Boulevard Magazine Report

Latest UpdatesAs interesting as the idea was to have the Kinsol Trestle featured in a great local publication, the real news as portrayed remains unchanged. The opportunity to have the real story of future recreational features was lost in the generic facts packaged in deadline green.
To date, the CVRD are going through changes that will see the present chair replaced with a visionary in Jack Peak, who will bring much needed fuel to the fire that is the future of a feature multi -use trail in the Cowichan Valley.Proponents of the trail have worked long and hard to see the Victoria section completed and the Malahat lands secured.
The new portion of the trail from Victoria to the Cowichan Valley is quickly approaching the missing link crossing of the Kinsol. The people moving to the area want to use all the naturally occurring features they can while maintaining an active quality of life. This translates to keeping the significant features of interest for others to enjoy as they enjoy the regions beauty.
The Kinsol Trestle while remaining as a feature on the pristine landscape -is worthy of preservation. To pull it down for no apparent reason is something to be avoided. The reasoning behind this is the bridge is it's own most powerful marketing tool;once it is removed ,there will be no impetus to replace it. The bridge as it stands, is a masterpiece and should be left for others to enjoy.
